I love it! I already owned a couple of iPads and Android tablets, but overall couldn't find a device that would meet my daily needs.
All I need to do is write email, check some websites, and take notes in school! But.... the iPad doesn't offer much control over the device and files, so sending and sharing files was a nightmare, and the Android crashed too often. With that said...
Some Information + I find the ASUS Transformer very easy to use + Very open and customizable + Battery life on average lasts me about 10 hours + Easily send and receive files because of the Windows File Explorer! :) + Comes with a USB port + Transforms from a Tablet into a Notebook so you can have the best of both worlds. + Unlike the iPad it has a SD slot to easily upgrade memory + It actually comes with only about 8GB of memory, which might not be enough for most people so I'd recommend the 128 GB SanDisk SD card ( http://amzn.to/11uCCj3 ) + Runs Flash videos and games + Webcam (front facing camera) + HDMI port to hook up to a TV + Fully compatible with Microsoft Office and comes with Windows 8.1
The specs are great and the features are amazing, it's definitely a grande experience. One thing I might also recommend is buying a $4 protective screen cover at to keep the fingerprints and dust under control. Because the screen gets a little smudgy from all the touching.
I bought the 32 GB model. Seriously, what more do you want for the money?! It's a little bulkier than I anticipated, but that won't affect the review for me. It feels a lot like the old ASUS netbooks (remember those?), but way cooler and sleeker since you can remove the tablet. And those clunkers used to cost just as much.
So far it's super fast. I am really pleased with the functionality given how little I spent. I've been purchasing ASUS for myself and my family since 2009 and I've never been disappointed (even with refurbished products).
For those who complain about right-click issues: This is when android know-how proves useful. When you want to right-click, hold your finger over the spot (on the touch-screen) and it will do right-click functions. There's probably some update or driver you can install, but I don't care enough to look it up.
For those who complain about the device not shutting off and sucking up battery: It's Windows 8.1, OF COURSE it shuts down. You swipe on thefar right of the screen and follow the steps to shut it down just like any windows computer.
For those who complain about the power cord: Seriously?! Why are you whining?! The ipad cord is just as bad. I'm an android user, so I already have a spare that is way better. Or you could just....you know...buy a better one for $10.
To be clear, this runs Windows 8.1 just like a standard laptop would. It's identical to the larger laptops I've had, but I intend to do much less with this device. I bought this for on-the-go email and calendar management, and touching up documents. It came with movie-editing and photo-editing software but I deleted it because it's a waste of space for me. I could probably do more, but I have a desktop for power productivity. At the end of the day, this does laps around even the latest ipad and costs a fraction of the price. Thank you, ASUS!
I had one of these for a while, and the touch screen stopped working after some time. I tried to repair it, but found that it was actually the connector on the main board that was broken, not the actual digitizer, so that one ended up confined to it's keyboard dock for use as a typical laptop. I really missed having the touch screen for more portability and versatility, so I wanted a new Windows tablet. I first purchased a different one here on Amazon, a NuVision 8 inch one with slightly better specs than this Transformer. (z8300 CPU, faster RAM, and a full HD display). I was no happy with that one at all, and the battery wouldn't stay charged so I ended up returning it. The short time I had it, I was sad to see it performed quite a bit less than the Asus Transformer I was used to, despite the different hardware. I shopped around Amazon a bit looking at different options and searching out countless reviews on YouTube and the like, and couldn't really sell myself on any of the Chinese tablets. When I saw a used T100 listed here for a great price, I bought it.
What I bought was a "Used - Very Good" tablet from a seller named "Triad Merchant". It was listed here as the model with a 32GB eMMC (hard drive) and a z3735 CPU. My old broken tablet has the z3775 CPU, but I figured I could live with a minor downgrade, probably not even notice it... lol When the tabled arrived, I was happy to see it shipped in the original box and packaging, and even included all the original paperwork including warranty papers, owners manual, a license card for Office, etc. There was no charger or USB cable included, but that was noted in the listing. Apart from a few minor scratches on the back of the tablet, it looks nearly new. No wear on the keys or touchpad, screen was flawless, etc. If it was used much, it was well taken care of. When first powered up, I found that it had been fully restored and had Windows 8.1 on it, it worked as if it were brand new and I was setting it up for the first time. I went through the basic setup and ran it for a few hours to make sure everything worked, then wiped it and performed a clean install of Windows 10. I was happy to see it activated with a digital license, meaning it had been upgraded to Windows 10 at some point before being factory restored to sell. Nice! I was also happy to see this particular one actually has the z3740 cpu, and a 64GB eMMC. Great!
So while I was a little reluctant to purchase a used tablet from a random seller here on Amazon, I'm glad I decided to take a chance. I ended up getting a tablet with better specs than was listed, that shipped and arrived really fast, at a great price! Perfect all around. :)
I should also note that so far after a couple of days of using it, the battery in this particular tablet seems to work at least as good as the one in my old tablet, which was pretty much as good as new. Battery Bar Pro is reporting 5% wear on my old tablet's battery, and so far 0% wear on this new one.

Not bad, Great value Pros: Comes with Microsoft Office (1 year), handles applications fairly well, small, portable, tablet comes in handy sometimes, expandable storage via micro sd, hard drive version inside keyboard dock is a must have, battery life is pretty good.
Cons: Minor bugs w/ touchscreen (won't work after I close the lid) and touch pad, can't handle powerful applications as well, seems a little top heavy (would like to see the keyboard part hold a little more weight or tablet be a little lighter). 32gb version is a little low (better off w/ hdd dock or 64gb version).
Recommendation: definitely for college students, or people who just need the portability and use small applications like Microsoft word, excel, etc. 32gb is a little on the low side for the tablet, either get one with a hard drive in the dock, have extra micro sd's on hand, or get the 64gb version.
**Found out how to fix MY touch screen problem here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2125051/touchscreen-stopped-working-asus-laptop.html
1) Go to "Device Manager"---> Expand "Human Interface Devices"---> The touch screen is a "USB Input Device" right click it and go to properties------> "Power Management"----> Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". 2) Then go to "Power Options"---> "Choose what closing the lid does"---> make sure all settings are set to sleep. You may need to Restart or Sign out after this process.
The Asus Transformer Book is very fast, much faster than my iPad II, which cost me almost three time as much. After I loaded Microsoft Office and MS Access and attached a large external display to the Transformer Book, it is as functional as a desktop PC.The lightweight, portability and functionality of the Transformer Book are just awesome -- all for less than $400.
There are a couple of things that keep me from giving the PC 5 stars:When the battery is half drained, the PC does not boot up properly. Also, to get the external monitor to work, you need to shut down the PC completely, attach the monitor (in my case, via a microHDML-to-VGA adaptor) then restart the PC.It took me a while to figure out this quirky nature of how the PC works with the external monitor. For a while, I though the microHDML port was not working.Once I figured out the restart requirement, my external display has been working consistently. Also, I wish the C: drive is more than 20 GB.That's because MS Office only loads onto the C: drive.Once MS Office is loaded, I keep running out of space on the C: drive and have to clean up temporary files once a month to keep the PC running properly.
I still think it's worth the money and will be glad to recommend this PC and its successors to anyone who is shopping for a convertible tablet PC.
I love this computer so much, I bought it twice.I had the version of this computer that did not have the 500gb keyboard and I ran that thing into the ground and dropped it a couple times. After I killed it, I bought 3 other laptops that were newer, including a customized one from HP, but none of them compared to this one so I returned them.Eventually, I came back to this one and was happy to get the upgraded keyboard. The keyboard has nice springy keys that are just slightly smaller than a regular keyboard, but they feel perfect for how I type. This computer turns on superfast, which I love. The Windows 10 upgrade is not perfect on this laptop and really messes with the battery meter.Depending on the brightness, it might tell you 10 hours or 5, but it pretty much lasts around 7 or more. You may want to stick with Windows 8 (which it comes with) if you want the most accurate read.I'm not really sure on the length with Windows 10 because I haven't actually come to the end of the battery life yet.I tend to go out with it and the battery goes all day.It also is small enough to fit in my purse. This does come with Microsoft Office and it works just like a regular desktop computer instead of a tablet.I wish Asus would keep making this computer but it seems they're trying to go mainstream.
Said I could get the Windows 10 upgrade, wasn't able to because not enough room on the tablet, freezes, not that great.Bought for my 5 year old to play games wouldn't buy for any other reason.

After having only used high end laptops for the past few years, I was hesitant on this one.Pleased that performance is very good and with an SSD upgrade, the i3 is more than tolerable.
The screen is large enough to actually get some work done, but the viewing angles are terrible. What was a nice surprise was seeing how crisp the screen was, can't really see individual pixels unless you really try and having the GUI larger due to scaling is actually a lot easier to use.
Never liked 8.1, but with touch, it's not bad for some things. While you'll rarely use this as a tablet due to it's weight, it's nice to have.
For around $400 (Thank you Black Friday), I couldn't be happier considering I paid $400 for a Nexus 10 not too long ago.My old laptop was 14lbs (desktop replacement) and a pain to travel with, this one is relatively light and much easier to deal with, even the "brick" is small and light.
The worst problem is very low audio, luckily the media players (Media Player Classic) and VLC let you boost the audio, so everything but an occasional Youtube video is OK, but it really is just too weak.
I looked at a lot of laptops/convertibles and this had the best bang for the buck, the next real step up puts you close to $1000 and unless you're a gamer with eagle eyes, you won't miss the extra HP much.
UPDATE: Aug 22 2015 - Recently upgraded to a larger SSD and decided to do a fresh install of W10.This took a bit of research to adjust bios settings to finally accept the USB thumb to boot and the W8 license did not transfer for me.W10 is noticeably faster that 8 and is all the better without the crapware. All hardware drivers were present except the card reader which mounting an old 8.1 Macrium reflect image and pointing w10 to that directory to search for the driver succeeded. If you don't mind the privacy issues of w10, it's a nice upgrade for this machine
I got this machine for my dad to use as a compact desktop by using it in tent mode with an accessory bluetooth keyboard & mouse (his preference--he doesn't like trackpads). It isn't blazingly fast, but we knew that; it isn't your old office Win 7 machine, either. It is decent. My needs for this machine are modest, and this has a good 720p style screen.Note that some of these machines have a problem that could seem like a deal-breaker: the wifi module has an out-of-date driver, and wifi can either not connect or make only crazy, intermittent connections.Note that I have never in my life had success with Microsoft's own "search for a new driver" function. The driver in question could date from 1997 and Microsoft's search engine will shrug and say, "that's the newest driver going, man."In this case, do your own research.Look up the name of the wifi module and go to softpedia for a new driver. The wifi module on the Asus 15.6 I got (a refurb--I predict this was why it was refurb) was useless until I did that.(I used an accessory wifi dongle until I got that fixed). Ignore lots of forum chatter online that this is a dark, unsolvable problem.Wifi module name.Softpedia.New driver. It is a solid machine otherwise. Also, the refurb needed to have the Microsoft product code physically keyed in to validate Windows.(This was the first time I had encountered that since the 1990s).The seller had helpfully written *the wrong &*@! code* on a card in the box.For reference: the correct product code for a Windows laptop is likely on a Microsoft sticker on the bottom of the machine.
I looked for a long time before buying this ASUS Flip book.I was worried about it being too heavy or bulky, but I was very happy when it came--very thin and light.Much better than I expected. The touch screen works great--so happy to have that.It makes windows 8 very enjoyable. The flip feature is cool, although I am still getting used to the sensitivity of the screen and how it works in that mode.Overall, a very sleek notebook with an excellent keyboard and feel.Sound is pretty good too.I believe for the price, it is an excellent choice for someone looking for a full size laptop that can also function as a tablet.I don't like the tablets that disconnect from their keyboards...this flip book is a better design.Works very well for everyday functions, no hang-ups or problems yet.I will update if I encounter any negative issues, but so far, I LOVE it!

Received this laptop a few days ago and so far its been great.Build quality is so much better than my previous Asus laptop. Metal feels great in thehands. The intel i3 processor is fast enough for everyday task and the speakers are also louder than my previous Asus laptop. The touchscreen is very response and I truly enjoy using tablet mode.Upgraded to Windows 10 and after a few additional updates, I finally like Windows 10. I had some issues with bluetooth and wifi connectivity after upgrading to Windows 10 but that was resolved with an update. Battery life has been good so far, 5 full hours with brightness at the highest level. This laptop also stays very cool to the touch even in tablet mode and the fan is surprising quiet. The only cons would be the lack of a backlit keyboard (not a big deal since I was completely aware of the fact) and I wish the resolution was higher but when you consider price, I think this is great deal. Asus made a great product and I would definitely recommend it.
5.0 out of 5 starsNo Regrets--Except for the Memory.

Solid! But get the model with more memory, 6GB really can't handle multiple operations (e.g., Netflix, Web Browser, and Adobe Acrobat Pro at the same time). This laptop is lightweight, cool-to-the-touch, and impressive given tat he chip is a bit dated. The screen waggles a little bit when I type, which my previous ASUS didn't do, but that might be because it's a transformer but it's not terribly noticeable after the first day or two. I highly recommend this laptop if you need a quick replacement between higher-performance laptops. This doesn't fee like a waste of money and, while I have no use for the tablet aspect, I put off purchasing an iMac because this meets my needs very well for now. I'll take ASUS over any other brand of computer outside of Apple right now (2016).
I'm happy with the computer. The screen is larger than what I expected. Its light enough to hold on my lap.the processing power is more than I expected. The only thing I don't like is the hard drive is constantly making annoying clicking noises.Other than that I like the laptop.

Ok, for starters, I'm not some blind fan-boy trying to boost the hype behind this thing. I'm more the type to tear it down if it wasn't worth every penny I paid for it. I have been using Android for several years and am very familiar with it's pros and cons.
I have to say, honestly, I haven't touched my laptop or netbook and have barely used my phone (for anything other than calls) since I got my Infinity (and dock.) Truth be told, I'm using it to write this review.
Display: The display on this thing is nothing short of beautiful. I've always loved the idea of watching movies on my back patio.Unfortunately, it's been a headache-producing, eye-squinting nightmare on every tablet, computer, phone and portable DVD player I've owned...until now. I intentionally loaded it up with Resident Evil: Apocalypse (because of the many dark scenes in it) and headed for the back yard. After being thoroughly impressed with how well I could see the movie, I decided to walk around the yard with it, in the midday sun. Only then did I have to turn on IPS+ to see the darker scenes and it worked perfectly. This display renders colors very true (not over-saturated or washed out) and blacks and whites are BLACK and WHITE. Text is crisp far smaller than I'd ever be willing to spend any time reading.
Speed: I don't know what else to say but it's very VERY fast. I've loaded over 225 apps of many different varieties on it, so I'd say I've put it through its paces. Now, I'm not saying that you won't have a sluggish moment here or there. What I AM saying is that if you do, it's probably the app you're using that's to blame. A poorly written app can cause a plague of problems on any device. I have a couple of apps that I'm willing to forgive shortcomings for because of functionality they offer but I can say that their shortcomings aren't nearly as apparent on this tablet as they have been on any of my other Android devices.
Battery: If I beat it REALLY hard, I can kill the battery (tablet only) in about 6 hours. My version of beating it really hard is multi-tab web browsing with Flash turned on, switching back and forth between several other apps, installing apps, downloading from my Box.net account, playing some games, using a remote desktop client, etc. All the while running either native movies or YouTube streams in Stick It Player (resize-able, floating, video player window that renders on top of whatever app you have open.) If I use it like most people would normally use a tablet, I can easily break the 10 hour mark (tablet only.) With the dock (I'm using the Prime dock,) I get anywhere between 9 and 16 hours of use out of it.
Dock: I'm using a Transformer Prime TF201 dock because A) It has a bigger battery than the Infinity dock and B) it was about $50 cheaper than the Infinity dock. It works perfectly. All of the ports, the keys, the charging, etc. work exactly as they should. One thing is, it's a little bit tighter of a fit but all that really means is that there's less play and you have to manually slide the lock over to secure it.
Cameras: Front-facing is great for video chat (tested with Google+ Hangouts and Skype) and the rear-facing takes absolutely beautiful pictures. I'm almost willing to consider being "that guy" who uses his tablet instead of a camera.
Bottom Line: I haven't found a single thing I dislike about this tablet. It really is everything they say it is, which is rare in this day and age. I would happily buy this tablet again.
Edit: Now that I've had it long enough for the newness to wear off enough that I'm actually willing to put it down once in a while, I'm getting 12-13 hours of battery life on the tablet alone and 17-18 with the dock. Again, results may vary but I'm still at the heavy end of the usage spectrum, so I don't foresee anyone having to worry about finding an outlet in the middle of the day.
EDIT #2:For Christmas, my wife bought me a Sandisk Ultra 64 GB micro SDXC card. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QZH6JS/ref=oh_details_o04_s01_i03 I have tested it in both SD slots and the USB port (via USB card reader) and it works in all three. Apparently there are some SDXC cards that aren't working properly with the Infinity, so I thought I should post a link to one that does. DO NOT reformat this card. It works perfectly right out of the box with the standard exFAT format it comes with.

This tablet is incredible and I don't even know where to start. It does everything as advertised and fulfills its specs. It's very fast and responsive, although rarely it does lag and freeze up for a few secs. Once I did receive it, the battery was dead. Upon reading the manual it says charge it up to 8 hours before use, which I did. After turning it on, a few minutes later you will be prompted to update to the latest firmware. After updating you will receive all the latest update for it and the latest version of ice cream sandwich. Unfortunately at the moment jelly bean isn't available yet, but Asus has declared that the do plan to bring jelly bean to the tablet. The new version of Android doesn't include flash player since Adobe has discontinued it. You can still install flash player by downloading the latest apk file and installing it using the file manager on the tablet. It does come with a few bloatware that can't be uninstalled unless you root the tablet, but some of it is useful. For those who are looking to game, the Tegra 3 processor is for you. You can play games like Grand theft auto 3, Max payne, and even emulators from the market place. As for the hardware, the display is very nice and delivers true HD. It does come with a cleaning cloth for the screen and cleans it very well. The rear camera records and takes pictures in a very high quality while the front is good quality, but much noticeable than the rear. It does read and accept a 64GB micro sd card. Many people have complained about the speaker placement. It does affect the sound since it's going away from you and will sound muffled if your hand is in the way. However, it does deliver great and precise volume. The battery lasts a very long time, but will drain faster if you have the tablet in performance mode rather than power saving mode. An option of a docking station is available to you which I got and I'm very glad I did. It turns the tablet into a netbook. The dock give the tablet another 5-6 hours of battery and works by when the tablet's battery falls around 70%, it will start to be charged by the dock. The dock is just like a laptop's keyboard. It includes an sd card reader (not micro), a USB 2.0 slot, and a charging slot. The price the tablet sells for is definitely worth it. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in an android tablet.
Having been using the Asus TF201-T for almost 4 years now and it's well publicized weak wi-fi issues, this new TF700-T is like night and day, "fantastic wi-fi speeds" along with an over all better performing Tablet!! My TF201 served me very well I should point out, but, as the years have gone by, not being able to stream You Tube content at home, set at 720P without video stalling was getting very old with me! Now, with the TF700-T those issues are "history"!! My wi-fi signal just screams at home, on my wireless network, so I'm sure it's going to be a huge improvement when I take it out for coffee and give it a try, with the coffee shop's secure wi-fi!! Has a new Android O.S. with a few minor updates and changes, it has 1080P screen resolution, versus only 720P on my TF201, otherwise it's still the same Asus high quality product I've come to know and expect from Asus. I have several of their products and the all keep on doing there thing and after sales customer service from Asus is second to none.
I'm very happy to have finally gone ahead with the upgrade and looking to many years of trouble free use. Kudo's Asus, keep up the with the awesome products. :-)

When I decided on this tablet, it was on the understanding that, like it's predecessors, it was a detachable unit which when docked with it's keyboard was very like a mini laptop. Typing is great on the real keyboard, compared to the virtual version. So I was surprised to learn that it was available only from two separate sellers. Ordered them anyway, and then the keyboard failed to show up. Got a full refund, but now I'd like to complete the unit with the keyboard. Lowest price for the keyboard now is $340. That's a $90 increase from the original offered price; admittedly from a supplier who couldn't provide it. Looked the thing up on the ASUS site and they don't even suggest a North American retailer... Would have bought a different tablet if I hadn't wanted a keyboard. Very disappointed with ASUS. Now reduced to hunting for a used unit on e-bay. I thought these guys were supposed to be first class. Very shabby marketing.
Just got this on the 8th i ordered it on Feb 1st, out of the box it came with ICXS 4.0.1 wich made it unusable for certain games/programs they would freeze or come up with blank screen. 2 days later Feb 9thICS 4.1.1 was implemented now works flawlessly and its quick, finding right encoder for playing movies at 1900x1200 still a issue but it looks Great,

The resolution is fantastic. Easy to use. Has great lines , thin , & feels like a quality product. The price has dropped substantially as it has been out for a few years, but it still has a quad core & high resolution coming close to rivalling Apples retina ,that other current competitor tablets have not equaled at much higher price points. A real bargain for what you get. My wife has commandeered mine, so I have another on order.
This has as many pixels as retina display! And fast too. I hummed and hawed over the tf300 instead of this, but went with this, it was way better than I expected. More specs than I researched. Yes a bit pricey, but the bragging I've been doing has paid for it - ha. High end for sure. Love it.
